Kris Martinez

writer • producer • director

Kris Martinez is a writer, producer, and creative director who specializes in helping corporate brands transform complex strategies into compelling, human-centered narratives. By bridging the gap between two decades of commercial expertise and the rigorous craft of cinematic storytelling, she helps organizations build authentic connections with national audiences.

As the founder of Martinez Creative Group in 2004, Kris has led award-winning branding and digital communications campaigns for a diverse portfolio of national clients. Her approach is uniquely informed by her MFA in Creative Writing and Screenwriting, which allows her to bring a “story-first” methodology to branding campaigns, corporate identity, and digital content.

In 2024, Kris expanded her impact by launching LushVerde Productions, a film and digital content company focused on mental health and wellness. This deep expertise in advocacy and high-empathy storytelling – developed through guest lecturing at Chicago-area universities and teaching writing therapy at a level-one psychiatric hospital – offers corporate brands a sophisticated lens for navigating modern communications strategies.

Recognized as an Enterprising Woman of the Year and as panelist for Crain’s Chicago Business on fostering women-led businesses, Kris continues to serve as a contributing writer and board member for Enterprising Women Magazine.

Kris holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and in 2020 received her MFA in Creative Writing and Screenwriting from Antioch University Los Angeles.
